Happy New Year everyone. To start up the new year, I am kicking things off with a series of DIY projects that we did to make our house more cozy. My house is in decent shape but it wasn’t always so and it took a long time to get here. I will show you some of our projects in this series (the ones that I made record of along the way). I hope you are inspired to be patient with yourself and your home as you read this series. Today, we will start with the $3 whitewashed clock above my entertainment center. The one that a few of you commented on in the post about my 2015 Christmas home tour. (more…)
It’s time for our Christmas home tour 2015! 2015 was good to us! We are traditional Christmas people! We love celebrating little baby Jesus! We love Celebrating the incarnation of God. We have a traditional and colorful nativity! We go and cut down a tree the day after thanksgiving! Husbs has a village from the eighties that we have under our tree. We go caroling with friends, have “It’s a wonderful life” Christmas parties, go to “Messiah” sing alongs, and go look at Christmas lights! To keep up with tradition, we also use lots and lots of red in our decor! (more…)
I love to see the little vintage inspired Christmas things around my house. With the exception of a few authentically vintage things, most of what we have, are our own reproductions and this Christmas season, these pillows are no different. I knew that i had to have some Christmas grain sack throw pillows. I wanted to have some fun and designed about 6 different pillows but only got around to completing 3. I love peeking my head in the living room and seeing the little pop of color that they give.
I love receiving the pottery barn catalog but i have no pottery barn money to ever buy anything. I do, however, love to get inspired by their stager. Most of the time, the decorating is stunning. At the time, i had no clue what i was going to do with them but how could i pass up a deal like that? While trying to decide how to make my own advent calendar, i remembered the little buckets and made my very own pottery barn advent calendar. (more…)
My friend Rebekah asked me exactly 3 months ago today to make a growth chart ruler as a birthday present for her son. This week, I took on the project. I looked at a few pictures online, looked at my yard stick, and decided to make a go of it. (more…)
