Vintage Market at The White Brick House

Thoughts On Our first Vintage Market With Video Tour

When I did the post a few weeks ago updating you guys on what I’ve been up to, one of the things I mentioned was that I opened up a shop in a vintage market place  in town called “The White Brick House!”  It’s actually a very beautiful place! It’s located in an old mansion formerly known as “Ashwood Manor” that was once part of Thomas Jefferson’s poplar forest and is said to have been the home of his daughter Martha! Now, it is known to us simply as “The White Brick House!”

Once a year all of the vendors of the market get together and do an outdoor market to invite the community to meet the vendors and to shop! This year was our very first time partaking in this market or any market for that matter and we kind of got a little too excited and planned a little too much but I am so glad we did!

For us, being a part of this market was to be a creative outlet and so months prior to this event,  we began working on a plan to do something different but yet classic and beautiful!

I knew that I wanted to do a little shiplap room to be the background for our display and so I went to my guy and he and our friend worked hard on a plan and brought it to fruition!

They built it out of pallets, Lauan plywood, and door hinges to allow the sides to freely move wider out or closer in! We painted it white, added a few plants on it, and it was perfect!

You guys, prepping for this event was SO much work! We slept short nights and worked long days for weeks! But you know what, this  was one of the most fun things we have done in a long time!

You know my very 2 very favorite parts of the event:

1.  communing with the other vendors! You see, although we all have shops at The White Brick House,  we are not always there at the same time and so we don’t always get to see each other! And so, I see all of this amazing stuff but I don’t always know the face behind all of the amazingness! Each time, I get to meet these girls who inspire me,  it’s always a really really fun time!

2. Getting to meet a few of you and chatting with you while we were there! A few people made sure to stop by and said hey “hi I follow you on Facebook or I saw your video on Instagram”  and came down here! You guys this is so fun! This (talking to you through written words) is a lot of fun but getting to meet you in person and to say “hi thank you for reading my little ramblings”, mean so much to me! And so if I didn’t get a chance to see you there, please know I am very  thankful for you! 😍
